This year, QEGS is offering the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) to Sixth Form students for the first time. The EPQ is a highly respected academic qualification that requires students to undertake an independent research project, produce a substantial written report and deliver a presentation on their findings.
The qualification is worth up to 28 UCAS points, equivalent to half an A Level, and is highly regarded by universities as it develops the research, critical thinking and independent study skills needed for higher education.
As part of the process, some of our students are seeking guidance from professionals with expertise in their chosen subject areas.
We are currently looking for volunteer mentors working in:
Education
Healthcare
Economics and Finance
Law, particularly those with knowledge of the American criminal justice system
Mentoring would involve reading sections of a student's project and providing occasional advice and feedback via email throughout the year. The commitment is flexible and would require only a small amount of your time, but could make a significant difference to a young person's future aspirations and academic success.
If you feel you could support one of our students, we would love to hear from you.
Please contact us for further information: callison@qegsblackburn.com
Thank you for helping to inspire and support the next generation of researchers, professionals and leaders.
